Cryptofloricon

One of my jobs as a creative director for various agencies is to be able to spot ‘cool’ – I hate that description but after an exhausting three days at the anatomical heart pop up I am not sure how else to word it so please do bear with me. Recently I have starting working with Ed Saperia (Top Office Machines were our kind host for the pop up), and had the pleasure of sharing the pop up space this weekend with the coolest florist ever – Cryptofloricon. Inspired by traditional Victorian floriography, writer and artist Ed developed a series of over 200 ‘flower codes’, allowing you to express anything from a simple romantic gesture (“I adore you”) to a loaded question (“Someone else?”) or even an insult (“Creep!”) using nothing but a few common flowers.

A cool concept even in writing but the visual presentation of the concept elevated it to the next level. Download the Cryptofloricon Press Release, or simply gaze in wonder at the images below.
